Referee Recertification
2026 Annual Recertification. A current license is required to officiate — complete your recertification each year by June 30.
How to Re-Certify
- Find the Referee Recertification Course in the U.S. Soccer Learning Center: learning.ussoccer.com. Filter for courses hosted by "The Indiana State Referee Committee."
- Log in with the same credentials as last year. Forgot your password? Click "Forgot Password" at login and a temporary password will be emailed to you.
- Complete all required assignments: Background Check (if 18 or older), SafeSport, Safe & Healthy Playing Environments, the Grassroots Course, and the Grassroots Quiz.
- Your license is approved automatically upon completion. A recertification badge is mailed to you within about a week by Official Sports International — no self-addressed stamped envelope needed.
Learning Center Help
Login problems, email verification, profile merges, background checks, and SafeSport are all handled directly by U.S. Soccer — not by the Indiana Soccer Referee Association. Start at U.S. Soccer's Referee Program support center, which has step-by-step guides for each. Your DRA cannot change a background check, SafeSport status, or profile merge on your behalf.
- Learning Center doesn't recognize my login — find the guide in the support center.
- Email verification / can't log in or reset password — resetting your password also re-triggers email verification.
- Merge profile / missing license history — you (the referee) submit the merge request to U.S. Soccer; the association can't do it for you.
- Background Check & SafeSport — managed entirely by U.S. Soccer through the support center above.
- Register for a course — see "How to find and sign up for a course" in the support center.
- Am I licensed? — check your status without logging in at learning.ussoccer.com/directory.
- Learning Center discount code — contact your District Referee Administrator (DRA).
Recertification badges are mailed automatically by Official Sports International every two weeks — no self-addressed envelope needed. Still stuck? Find your District Referee Administrator.
